On matters pyrotechnic
I have always had a bit of a fascination for fire engines. Perhaps in another life I was a fire chief, or I should after all have become an engine driver or a fireman instead of being a solicitor.
Matters came to a head when my wife and I actually bought a fully fledged fire engine (this is a picture of it by the way). It lives in our drive and we occasionally alarm the neighbours by squirting water over the roof or switching on the blue flashing lights and sounding the siren. It does not like living outside, and the paint is now beginning to peel, but everything works. The first two articles (on the same theme) were written before we got the fire engine.
Then we almost did get a chance to fight a real fire with it..... but it was not to happen. The second two links lead to copies of articles which feature the fire engine.
And relevant to nothing that I have said here, except that it still involves 4 wheels, this is an article** extolling the Morris Minor (car) and its links with the family. It will take a while to load up as it has 3 colour pages.
**Published in "Minor Matters" dedicated to the Morris Minor
